World Cup day of Dance

SATPE and the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society (RSCDS) are delighted to announce that Scottish World Cup Day of Dance will take place on Friday 12th June!

Scotland play their first World Cup game for 28 years on Sunday 14th June, and we want to send positive energy and support by encouraging schools across the country to host a day of celebration using our World Cup Day of Dance pack, with traditional dances renamed after some of the heroes who got us there, and including our specially created dance: The World Cup Wheech which was devised by SATPE and Penpont Primary School in Dumfries & Galloway!

The pack includes QR codes that will take you to the RSCDS pack on the SATPE Website to help you learn the dance steps, links to traditional music and some alternative suggestions by Scottish artists to let you try some other songs to dance along to to keep the party going!

All schools and groups who sign up will receive an e-mail* with a link to updated music and resources, and be entered into our draw to win an exclusive prize for taking part! The Local Authority with the highest percentage of schools participating will also win a special prize!
