In recognition of Scotland’s first football World Cup qualifying football team, we have renamed the dances for Scotland World Cup Ceilidh Week, where we encourage schools up and down the country to participate with an extra skip in their step to celebrate Scottish culture, dance and sport more than ever before, including our specially created World Cup Wheech, designed by SATPE alongside Penpont Primary School in Dumfries & Galloway to pay tribute to the goalscorers who sent Scotland to the World Cup!

We have included QR codes that will take you to the RSCDS pack on the SATPE Website to help you learn the dance steps, links to traditional music and some alternative suggestions by Scottish artists to let you try some other songs to dance along to to keep the party going!

Any school who participates and sends in evidence to president@satpe.co.uk or tags us on Social Media: Instagram or X; @Satpe1 and @RSCDS (Using Hashtags #MaketimeforPE #WorldCupCeilidh) will be issued with a certificate of participation and will be entered into a draw to win a prize for their school!

Scotland World Cup Ceilidh Week will officially take place between 19th and 23rd January in the lead up to Burns Day, but anyone doing ‘Social Dance’ before then, feel free to get involved early!
